Calculate Your Body Mass Index
How do I calculate Body Mass Index
Body Mass Index is a simple calculation based on the person's height and weight. It is calculated as BMI is kg / m 2. where kg represents the weight of a person in kilograms, and the m 2. refers to their height in meters squared.
An BMI that is 25.0 or higher is considered to be overweight and healthy can be 18.5 up to 24.9. BMI is a common occurrence for adults aged 18 to 65 years old.
Who should not use the BMI calculator
BMIis is not recommended to build muscle or athletes who run long distances pregnant women, young or elderly. This is due to the fact that BMIdoes do not consider how much weight carried by muscle or fat, but only the amount. People with higher muscular mass, like athletes, could have a higher BMI but are not at a higher risk for health. People with lower muscle mass, like youngsters who haven't completed their growth, or those who are losing muscle mass could have an lower BMI. When lactation and pregnancy occur the body composition of a woman alters, and therefore the use of BMI is not a good idea.
